Talk about an item of clothing that someone gave you. Please say – what it was – when you got it – who gave it to you and why – and explain how you felt about it. About a year ago, my supervisor at work was downsizing to a smaller home and had to get rid of some of her belongings. She had a vast collection of clothes and accessories and gave quite a number of items to me and my colleagues. Amongst the items she gave was a most dramatic overcoat that never fails to impress. My supervisor travelled extensively and purchased this particular piece on a trip to Paris. It was a long overcoat made of black wool felt but had inserts of leather. The leather was embossed with various geometrical shapes that weren't visible from afar but up close were very detailed. As you may imagine, this overcoat could be described as a bit eccentric and I always feel like I belong in some kind of fairytale when I wear it. I am always showered with compliments when I wear this coat. As I have a flair for drama, the coat provides a certain mystique that I rather enjoy. It is a shame that my supervisor had to part with it, but it is quite a stroke of good luck for me!
