Leadership Unfiltered

1 | My Leadership Journey

Listen Later

On this episode, I'm sharing with you my unique leadership journey, where it started and what led to where I'm at today. I'm sharing the challenges I experienced, the lessons I learned, and the different experiences I had. I don't hold back and get raw and real about my experiences because leadership isn't meant to be perfect.

My first promotion to a people leadership role was in 2005, which also included an out-of-state move. It was scary, came with many challenges, and allowed me to grow in many ways. From there, I served in multiple leadership roles, moved again to another state, and at one point made the difficult decision to leave behind an 18-year career to join another organization. Through all this, one thing remained the same.....I followed my leadership passion.

As I reflect on my leadership journey, I can see how I've grown as a leader and how the world of leadership has changed over the years, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I hope you are able to embrace all the parts of your leadership journey with love, grace, and admiration for the leader you are becoming!

Each person's leadership journey is unique to them so take from my story what serves you and leave behind what doesn't resonate. You may find that you have some parallels in your journey, or yours may be totally different. No journey is better than the other, they are all right for us!
