1- The great and abominable church takes away plain and precious parts so they might pervert the right ways of the Lord that they might blind the eyes and harden the hearts of the children of men (1 Nephi 13:26)

2- The power of the Lamb of God descended upon the covenant people of the Lord armed with righteousness and the power of God and great glory (1 Nephi 14:14)

3- Holding fast to the word of God protects us from the fiery darts of the adversary (1 Nephi 15:24)
