Niyaz Pirani and Clint Keaton welcome you to We Pod Sonically, a weekly podcast where we retrospectively review one record per show, as well as provide our listeners with current and trending news in the music industry.

This week we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of Nine Inch Nails' The Downward Spiral.

From the visceral megahit "Closer" to the abrasive "March of the Pigs," we slip into the spiral of the concept album Niyaz characterized as "a punch in the face." Yet, coupled with the soothing ambiance of "A Warm Place," which eventually leads into what Clint described as "sonically ecstatic" when "Eraser" gallops towards its conclusion, "The Downward Spiral" proves anything but your average rock record.

We conclude with a tribute to the tragic passing of The Prodigy frontman Keith Flint.
