David has met with Ahimelech, the high priest and asked for bread for his hungry men. 2. Ahimelech gives the bread to David having been satisfied with his testimony of the ceremonial cleanliness of his men. 3. David then asks for a sword and Ahimelech gave him the sword of Goliath. 4. David escapes to Gath, Philistines territory where Achish was the king. 5. David was afraid when he was recognized by the servants of the king and so he feigned madness. 6.
