1 Samuel 1: ¡Toma la determinación de hacer cambios positivos!

1 Samuel 1:8-20:
Y Elcana su marido le dijo: —Ana, ¿por qué lloras? ¿Por qué no comes? ¿Por qué está afligido tu corazón? ¿No soy yo para ti mejor que diez hijos?
Después de haber comido y bebido en Silo, Ana se levantó; y mientras el sacerdote Elí estaba sentado en una silla junto al poste de la puerta del templo del SEÑOR, ella oró al SEÑOR con amargura de alma y lloró mucho. E hizo un voto diciendo: —Oh SEÑOR de los Ejércitos, si te dignas mirar la aflicción de tu sierva, te acuerdas de mí y no te olvidas de tu sierva, sino que le das un hijo varón, entonces yo lo dedicaré al SEÑOR por todos los días de su vida, y no pasará navaja sobre su cabeza.
Sucedió que mientras ella oraba largamente delante del SEÑOR, Elí observaba la boca de ella. Ana hablaba en su corazón; solo se movían sus labios, pero no se oía su voz. Elí creyó que ella estaba ebria. Y le preguntó Elí: —¿Hasta cuándo vas a estar ebria? ¡Aparta de ti el vino!
Ana respondió y dijo: —No, señor mío; yo soy una mujer atribulada de espíritu. No he bebido vino ni licor, sino que he derramado mi alma delante del SEÑOR. No pienses que tu sierva es una mujer impía. Es por mi gran congoja y por mi aflicción que he hablado hasta ahora.
Elí respondió y le dijo: —Ve en paz, y que el Dios de Israel te conceda la petición que le has hecho.
Ella dijo: —Que tu sierva halle gracia ante tus ojos. La mujer siguió su camino. Después comió y no estuvo más triste. Se levantaron de madrugada y adoraron delante del SEÑOR. Y volviéndose, llegaron a su casa en Ramá. Elcana conoció a Ana su mujer, y el SEÑOR se acordó de ella. Y sucedió que a su debido tiempo, Ana concibió y dio a luz un hijo. Y le puso por nombre Samuel, diciendo: “Porque se lo pedí al SEÑOR”.

Vamos a comenzar un nuevo libro acerca de la vida del pueblo de Israel.
En el libro de Jueces vimos la decadencia espiritual y la confusión que existía en los corazones de los israelitas.
En medio de la herejía, la idolatría y los actos pecaminosos, Dios escogió un profeta que escuchara la voz de Dios y trajera un avivamiento espiritual a Israel. Este profeta reestructuró la forma en que el pueblo de Israel adoraba a Dios; también Dios lo usó para ungir al primero y segundo rey de Israel, convirtiéndose en uno de los grandes profetas después de Moisés.
Pero todo esto ocurrió gracias a la fe de una mujer que estaba desesperada porque quería tener un hijo. Ella se había llenado de amargura y de una continua tristeza porque era estéril. Ella se lamentaba delante de Dios y culpaba a su marido de su miseria. Pero fue hasta que ella tomó la determinación de cambiar su manera de pensar y de enfrentar su problema, que su vida cambió y dio un giro de 180 grados.
Cuando Ana tomó la decisión de cambiar la forma de actuar y no volver al mismo punto de miseria que experimentaba cada año, ella tomó la iniciativa de ejercitar su fe, levantándose de su silla y dirigiéndose al lugar de los sacrificios, hacia la presencia de Dios. Ahí es cuando Dios recibió su oración de un corazón desesperado pero a la vez confiado, lleno de fe. Dios ve el sacrificio de Ana, ofreciendo su vida al servicio de Dios y también dedicando a Dios ese hijo que ella estaba pidiendo. ¡Esto produjo que el sacerdote la bendijera, deseando que el Señor la escuchara y le concediera su petición! Al final, la Biblia registra que ella dejó de sentirse triste.

Espero que este ejemplo de una mujer que tomó una decisión radical en su vida para dar un giro de 180 grados en su forma de ver los problemas nos inspire a levantarnos de esa silla de lamento, amargura y tristeza, y que más bien clamemos a Aquel que hace maravillas, que transforma las cosas imposibles en nuestras vida en posibles.

1 Samuel 1:8-20:
Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”
So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the Lord. And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish. Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”
And it happened, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli watched her mouth. Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. So Eli said to her, “How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!”
But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.”
Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.”
And she said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.
Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her. So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.”

Let's start a new book about the life of the people of Israel.
In the book of Judges we saw the spiritual decline and confusion that existed in the hearts of the Israelites.
In the midst of heresy, idolatry, and sinful deeds, God chose a prophet who would hear the voice of God and bring spiritual revival to Israel. This prophet restructured the way the people of Israel worshiped God; also God used him to anoint the first and second king of Israel, becoming one of the great prophets after Moses.
But all this happened thanks to the faith of a woman who was desperate because she wanted to have a child. She had been filled with bitterness and continuous sadness because she was barren. She lamented before God and blamed her husband for her misery. But it was until she made the determination to change her way of thinking and facing her problem that her life changed and took a 180 degree turn.
When Hannah made the decision to change the way she acted and not return to the same point of misery that she experienced every year, she took the initiative to exercise her faith, getting up from her chair and going to the place of sacrifice, towards the presence of God. That's when God received her prayer from a desperate but at the same time trusting heart, full of faith. God sees Hannah's sacrifice, offering her life in the service of God and also dedicating to God that son she was asking for. This caused the priest to bless her, wishing that the Lord would hear her and grant her request! In the end, the Bible records that she stopped feeling sad.

I hope that this example of a woman who made a radical decision in her life to turn 180 degrees in her way of seeing problems inspires us to get up from that chair of regret, bitterness and sadness, and that we cry out to the One that works wonders, that transforms the impossible things in our lives into possible ones.
