After Hannah left her son with Eli, she could have gone off and had a good cry, but instead, she burst into a song of praise to the Lord.

People don’t understand the relationship between sacrifice and song.

Before Jesus would be arrested and crucified He sang a hymn with His disciples (Matt 26:30). When Paul and Silas were beaten, humiliated and thrown in prison for there testimony of Jesus, they sang hymns to the Lord (Acts 16:20-26).

There are many Psalms of David praising God in the midst of difficult situations.

All these examples point out God’s grace on undeserving people, God’s victory over the enemy, and the wonderful way God turns things upside down in order to accomplish His purposes.
