David's life was threatened by King Saul so many times that he finally resorted to something terribly foolish - to attempt to live in Gath, a city of the Philistines. Unfortunately, when he arrived, he was recognized, and upon meeting the King, David acted like he was mad. Through all these circumstances in David's life, we see God protecting and shaping the King He wants David to be.
