In this episode, I discuss what it means to be a Christian. We explore what Jesus and the scriptures teach us. A Christian means following Jesus and obeying his commands. It’s that simple; but it’s a commitment. As we evaluate our church and Christian communities, we might see a contrast to our lifestyle and what the Bible says. Has our faith conformed to the patterns of this world? Have we counted the cost of following Jesus? The goal is to think deeper and challenge our inner selves. Jesus said; “pick up your cross and follow me.” Not when it is convenient, not while still playing in the worldly sandbox, not while continuing to sin or looking back at our sinful past. God’s will for our lives is to be sanctified. The Bible says; we must be holy because he is holy. Our Christian faith cannot continue to conform to the patterns of this world. It has come at a price; the blood of Christ and the hands & feet, sweat and persecution of the disciples. It is not a fan club or some brand.
