Nobody likes music theory. It's dry and boring and like learning a language, once you learn it, it's with you forever. 
However, this doesn't mean that music theory isn't important. 
If you are a musician, then you will want to have a working knowledge of music theory, and at least to have a basic understanding of harmony, counterpoint, and form. But, learning music theory isn't exactly a walk in the park. Here are 5 of the biggest reasons to learn music theory.
