What is the church supposed to be?  Is it just a social club?  A political action committee?  Is it a social welfare organization?  

We are starting a new study in the Bible book of 1st Thessalonians.  And of all the churches that Paul established, the one at Thessalonica best exemplified what a church is supposed to be.  So, we are going to look at that 1st century church as an example of what our church at 3430 South Meridian, Wichita, Kansas is supposed to be; 

The first thing the church is supposed to be is, a people of encouragement.
