* Paul mentions three types of unhealthy believers and how we are to help them:
* 1) Lazy - we are to warn them.
* Laziness refuses to do what it knows to do because it lacks discipline to do it.
* Lazy people move toward comfort and away from pain because they focus on the cost of the reward instead of the reward.
* Laziness leads to lukewarmness.
* 2) Timid - we are to encourage them.
* Encourage means to “make courageous.”
* Courage is better caught than taught. It’s contagious.
* Testimony makes us courageous.
* 3) Weak - we are to take tender care of them.
* We are to first empathize with them, and then gently instruct them.
* New believers fit into this category.
* On this foundation Paul tells us to be patient with everyone.
* Patience is a passion that lasts because we refuse to take matters into our own hands - we trust God with the results.
