In the first message of our new series on 1 Thessalonians, Hope in the Midst of Persecution, Pastor LT challenges us with the call: “Don’t Live Under the Radar.” Using the story of the Sons of Sceva (Acts 19:13–16) as a warning, we’re reminded that a faith kept hidden bears little fruit.

Walking through Paul’s experiences in Thessalonica (Acts 17) and the Thessalonian believers’ response (1 Thessalonians 1 & 3), this sermon shows us that the gospel will stir up opposition—but that’s proof we’re walking in God’s will. From Abel to Daniel, Stephen to Jesus, Scripture confirms the reality: “all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12).

Rather than seeking a “trouble-free Christianity,” we are called to live boldly above the radar—anchored in God’s Word, fueled by prayer, speaking truth in love, and making disciples wherever He places us. The message closes with the story of Jim Elliot and his missionary team, whose sacrifice sparked revival, reminding us that gospel impact often comes at great cost.
