Before there was Martha, there was Maria (she pronounced it Ma-rye-uh). Come over the river and through the woods with Ken Herskovitz and I to discover just how hard this lady worked. Phew, she did it all. She was one of the first female best selling authors and wrote a comprehensive life/guide and cookbook all while tirelessly fighting for the end to slavery. She’s a personal hero of mine and I think you’ll find her just as inspirational.
