The inaugural episode of the Zumtobel Group Podcast Light Talks is dedicated to transformation, thematically based on this year's Zumtobel Group Annual Report designed by UNStudio. Host Diana Panzirsch talks to Alfred Felder, CEO of the Zumtobel Group, on site at the Light Forum of the company headquartered in Dornbirn. Joining them from Amsterdam is Dutch architect Ben van Berkel, founder and principal architect of UNStudio and designer of the current annual report entitled "Transform". Right from the start, he mentions the importance of light and related data in the transformation part. For Alfred Felder, too, digitalisation has become indispensable in the lighting industry. Thanks to new applications and innovations in the field of technology, lighting designs can be planned in a way that saves energy and resources. The aspect of sustainability and the environmental impact of lighting designs are also always taken into consideration, says Felder. Both in the field of architecture and in the lighting industry, the focus is on the social, mental and physical health of people. The Zumtobel Group's lighting designs are committed to visual comfort and are designed to meet human needs. This makes the ongoing exchange and cooperation with experts from other fields all the more relevant. Light changes the world, people and life. But only through communication with other fields can new developments be realised that do justice to the transformation age.

Die Auftaktfolge des Zumtobel Group Podcast Light Talks widmet sich der Transformation, thematisch angelehnt an den diesjährigen, von UNStudio gestalteten Geschäftsbericht der Zumtobel Group. Dazu spricht Moderatorin Diana Panzirsch mit Alfred Felder, dem CEO der Zumtobel Group, vor Ort im Lichtforum des Unternehmens mit Hauptsitz in Dornbirn. Aus Amsterdam zugeschaltet ist der niederländische Architekt Ben van Berkel, Gründer und Hauptarchitekt von UNStudio und Gestalter des aktuellen Geschäftsberichts mit dem Titel „Transform". Auch der Aspekt der Nachhaltigkeit und die Umweltauswirkungen der Lichtkonstruktionen werden stets mitbedacht, so Felder. Sowohl im Bereich der Architektur als auch in der Lichtindustrie steht soziale, mentale und physische Gesundheit der Menschen im Vordergrund. Die Lichtdesigns der Zumtobel Group verpflichten sich dem visuellen Komfort und sind auf die menschlichen Bedürfnisse ausgerichtet. Umso relevanter sind der anhaltende Austausch und die Kooperation mit Expert:innen außerhalb des eigenen Fachgebietes. Licht verändert die Welt, die Menschen und das Leben. Aber nur durch die Kommunikation mit anderen Bereichen können neue Entwicklungen verwirklicht werden, die dem Transformationszeitalter gerecht werden.
