-Show Low Library hosts Halloween Book Cart Carnival Friday October 26th from 6:15pm-8pm. Dress warmly for this free event, which will be held outside in the library’s parking lot on the east side of the building at 181 N. 9th Street.

  -The monthly “Cook the Books” club for adults (18 years and older) who love murder mysteries set in the world of gastronomy will meet from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Show Low Public Library, 181 N. 9th Street.

The mystery is “Brownies and Broomsticks” by Bailey Cates, the first “Magical Bakery Mystery” featuring Katie Lightfoot, a magical baker who works at the Honeybee Bakery owned by her aunt and uncle. Check out and read the book before the Oct. 22 meeting, then meet with fellow readers to discuss the book and eat one of the delicious recipes (brownies, perhaps?) contained in the book.

   
  Malaina Spillman with the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside shares information about the Pinetop Lakeside Trunk or Treat. The town of Pinetop-Lakeside is hosting Trunk or Treat from 5:30-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Mountain Meadow Recreation Complex, 958 S. Woodland Road. The event offers a pumpkin carving contest, pumpkin decorating contest, costume contest at 6, 7, 8 p.m., games, prizes, candy and more. The Movies in the Park will feature Hotel Transylvania 2 at 5:30 p.m. followed by Hotel Transylvania 3.         Aaron Leach stops by to talk about the Heroes Christmas Tribute starting the day after Thanksgiving in the Show Low City Complex.   An all-audio controlled Christmas light show/display that runs during the Christmas season and pays tribute to our nation's Heroes including Veterans. There will be 100,000 lights up, with free admission.
