Without a doubt, the key word in the Book of Ruth is the word redemption. It is used nine times in the first six verses of this fourth and final chapter. Ruth’s cultural redemption is so closely aligned with our spiritual redemption, that the common threads are easy to trace. Boaz was Ruth’s kinsman redeemer; Jesus is our Kinsman Redeemer.
