Listen Later

Stop 10, the final stop, on the NUI Galway Biodiversity trail is on the river bank opposite the ruins of Menlo Castle, which is home to both the barn owl and Ireland's rarest bat. Dr Caitriona Carlin discusses what bats eat, Dr John Carey talks about barn owls while Dr Colin Lawton (Zoology) introduces some of the other mammal species found in this part of campus. A map of the trail (although not necessary to complete the audio trail) can be found at http://www.nuigalway.ie/biodiversitytrail/
