In this era when political and religious conservatisms often go hand in hand, it’s hard to know where to draw the line with churches involved in politics. Certainly if I agree with their politics, I expect and encourage overt activism. If I disagree with a church’s politics, I suddenly feel it’s entirely inappropriate for them to be involved in civic life.
Pastor Jen Jepsen is here to help me talk and think through this issue and grapple with what church is and what it ought to be.
At the time of recording, Jen was co-pastor of Left Hand Church in Longmont, Colorado. She has since left that position, and continues to serve as a spiritual leader, advocate, wife, mother, and friend.
