My family and I have been part of the Down Syndrome community ever since my brother was born 27 years ago. I am fiercely protective of my brother, and advocacy for him and for others with Down Syndrome is what pumps through my blood. In this episode, I share my heart for inclusion, the things I have learned and experienced as a former special education teacher and a passionate sister who has immersed herself in Down Syndrome awareness, what causes Down Syndrome, what it's like to have a family member with Down Syndrome, how you can best support and stand with families who have children or siblings with Down Syndrome, and how you yourself can be an advocate. PLUS, I make a major announcement about a project I've been working on for almost four years that is an extension of my Down Syndrome advocacy.
