Noelle shares her experiences of working with community health workers (CHW) in different locations globally and her most recent interaction with CHW in Honduras after the start of the pandemic. She highlights the need for an enabling environment to sustain CHW systems and build on the trust, experience and dedication these individuals bring to the table. As we are seeing more and more health workers leave their jobs due to fatigue and burnout, growing a robust health workforce is more important now than ever. We need to respect and ensure their rights so that they can continue to be frontline heroes.
