My guest for Episode 10 is my mum, Bernice Gallagher. In 1998 Bernice was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and was given one to five years to live. Along with chemotherapy and radiation, she drank an herbal tea called Essiac. Bernice believes this tea helped her to fight the cancer, and stay in full remission for two decades.

We talk about cancer in the family, and the history of Essiac which has some parallels to the history of kratom in the way it was treated by the medical establishment.
