Abre (Instagram: @thewildbillingsleys, @moonstonedoula) is a black birth doula & postpartum doula talking to us about her story. Abre talks to us about obstetric violence when she was convinced into getting a epidural that she did not truly want and a forced non consented episiotomy and vacuum used during the birth of her son. She also experienced postpartum depression & painful sex due to the forced episiotomy that she received a lack of support. She also talks about how this experience inspired her to become a black doula for her community, Abre goes into detail about her second pregnancy with her daughter and how she hired a doula, midwife, and decided to birth at a birthing centre.
