She also experienced postpartum depression & painful sex due to the forced episiotomy that she received a lack of support. She also talks about how this experience inspired her to become a black doula for her community, Abre goes into detail about her second pregnancy with her daughter and how she hired a doula, midwife, and decided to birth at a birthing centre.
