10. Hidden (2005)

Listen Later

In this episode, we're joined by our friend and fellow cinephile Hannah Joyner! We discuss Michael Haneke's 2005 thriller/drama Hidden (Caché)!
Hidden is centred around a Parisian family who start receiving ominous videos tapes in the mail depicting them being filmed.
We delve into the uniquely serious cinema of Michael Haneke, depictions of violence on screen, feeling lectured by films & European cinema vs. Hollywood. We also reflect on volunteering at MIFF (Melbourne International Film Festival) & Hannah's experience living and working in L.A, California.
No music in this episode! This is how Haneke feels about music : "Usually music is used to hide a film's problems." Hehe, no fun.
Enjoy!
