In this episode, we dive into the powerful hymn, "There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood". We explore its history, written by William Cowper, a British man from the 1700s who struggled with mental illness and depression. He was a close friend of John Newton, the writer of "Amazing Grace". Cowper's conversion to Christianity transformed his life and led to the creation of hymns like this one.

We discuss the hymn's powerful and sometimes graphic language, particularly the line "There is a fountain filled with blood". This imagery highlights how the blood of Jesus not only covers sin, but also removes and washes it away. We also reflect on the personal and poignant final verse: "Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die".
