Listen Later

In this episode Chris is obsessed with her new insulated Kinto travel mug (not sponsored - yet) and Sarah’s local cafe ghosted her. They play one of Sarah’s comedy songs. Chris brings a hilarious article from a journalist researching an offensive radio program in the 30’s, and Sarah brings an article about divvy labes from 123 years ago - what has changed? They discuss housework, retiring into a sharehouse and whether its pronounced research or research.

Chris’s article is from The Wireless Weekly: the hundred percent Australian radio journal, December 30th 1939, “JULIA IN SEARCH OF A WORD OR, THROUGH DARKEST DICTIONARY WITH ROD AND GUN.”

Sarah’s article is from Evening News (Sydney), Thursday 4 July 1901, page 5, “Women and Housework.”

Sarah referenced the ABS website, this paper from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency and work from The Future of Work Lab.
