I am not 100% sure if this episode is practical or not but let's talk about cooking today.
I have been in a mood for cooking. Cooking is now where I can show my best talent of being efficient and acquiring a strong sense of accomplishment in my life. Honestly, I am quite new to cook. I was too lazy to cook while I was in Japan, no the truth should be our culture has been too convenient to start cooking by ourselves. For instance, it is straightforward to find qualified inexpensive foods no matter where you live thanks to convenience stores. Many people know about Japanese convenience stores which are different from Canadian ones we call it "convini" in Japan. They are playing a crucial role in our lives to enhance our quality of life because not only do they have everything we need but also an incredibly wide variety of good deal ready-to-eat meals with the best quality. What's more, they are sold in small quantities. That means we indulge in several meals at once that never make us boring.
That means we no longer have to cook in Japan! No one can blame me for the truth. Then I ended up with almost no cooking experience until moving to Canada.
After coming to Canada, we were kind of forced to do cooking daily due to the cost of dining out at the restaurant which is ridiculously expensive. Even the prices of ready-to-eat meals are outrageously high. No options for me.
But for the first year of my cooking journey, I kept cooking sandwictches with same ingrediants such as ham and rettuces or sometimes pasta with simple canned pasta source or instant ramen. That's it. It was mainly because I was living in a shared house all the year which requires us to take turns to cook in the shared kitchen. In case, I didn't enjoy cooking even once just always rush, rush every day to finish cooking in a timely manner. However, now I have my own kitchen! Plus, now I know how to cook rice without rice cooker! Once this happened to me, my cooking journer begun. My usual diet completely went back to Japanese version which is rice-centered. Now I could count up to 23 Japanese authentic meals that I can cook!
What's most important is my time efficiency of cooking. I still don't agree with the idea of sacrificing time for good cooking. Therefore, I cook only twice a week and cook multiple meals simultanously. Bragging is not my thing but I found myself an expert of multi-task work by breaking tasks into manageble pieces and trucking time precisely to finish it quickly. Say the least, I excel at this. Besides my lovely friend "whiskey with soda" gives me extra cherish, happiness and desire the cooking time. Yes, she does for sure! Usually four of my friends are with me every night for your information. By the way, I only cook basic Japanese cuisine such as nikujaga, curry, omurice, humburg, chicken karraage, buta don, gyoza other than some Chinese food like Mapo tofu, hoikoro, stir fry and Mexican taco! But recently I started cooking some no-name meals by following my inspiration. That could bring me to the next level of high-efficient cooking. So it is your turn. Do you like cooking? or is you are also an expert of efficient cooking, any tips for efficient cooking? Give me some advice.
