Nomad is a PropTech (Property Technology) company built for Dubai real estate, led by our ex-Silicon Valley female CEO, Helen Chen. Our mission is to redefine the way people buy or rent their homes by building a transactional marketplace which provides customers with the ability to search and transact all under one roof. We understand that there is a massive opportunity to revolutionize the buying and renting experience by focusing on better technology.
PropTech is a hot topic at the moment with companies such as WeWork, OpenDoor and Compass all carving a niche in the property and real estate industry. At Nomad, we plan to utilise a customer first and technology first approach to update and elevate the buying, selling and renting process in the Middle East markets. Similar companies in other countries are already seeing success in beginning to reshape the industry, such as TrueHome (Mexico), Lianjia (China), EmCasa (Brazil), Propzy (Vietnam) and Compass (US).
Prior to founding Nomad, Helen was an investor and worked at several notable companies including Goldman Sachs, China Investment Corporation (CIC), and Blackstone as well as studying at Stanford Business School. Always having had a passion for real estate, the idea for Nomad was conceived whilst Helen was in Silicon Valley, but recognizing the potential in the Middle East she relocated to Dubai and set up the business in September 2019.
