Introduction to the topic
A modern movement amongst some Muslims today claim that following anything other than the Quran is “shirk” (associating partners with God) and that following the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) is false. They also attempt to disparage the body of ahadith claiming that these are fabrications of later generations. In this episode we explore the various arguments including the arguments obligating the following of the sunnah as well as what constitutes the sunnah and the role of the ahadith is establishing the sunnah. We are pleased also to announce we will be joined by brother Farid from “Farid Responds”. There will be opportunity for the audience to ring in and ask their questions during the show.
