We have talked about various skills and methods that help us to be more effective non-coercive parents. However, these are not recipes to be followed, nor roles to be played. They are practices that implement underlying principles of parenting. In our season 1 finale, we talk about manifesting these principles:

  • How to be authentic in your parenting by honestly disclosing your feelings;
  • How to prioritize being connected by approaching problems together, staying curious, and fostering creativity;
  • How to be empathic by listening for understanding not just what is said, but also what is not said
