Are you deceived?

God please let me win the 500 million dollar lottery. If I win I will pay off the church debt, start some orphanages, tithe to my church, give money to the poor… I will also buy a new house, and a house in Florida… oh and in Montana on a mountain with some really cool snowmobiles and a huge jeep and a hummer, and for my Florida home I’ll get a Lambo and a Ferrari and the home will be on the ocean… You know I should probably buy a home in the Caiman islands as well…

Man Im going to have to cut back on how much I give the church- I mean God doesn’t want the church to solely depend on just my income…others may not tithe then and they will miss out on his blessing… and this is how deception works.  

Are you deceived? 

 - has anyone warned you about behavior that does not line up with scripture?

 - Have you knowingly excused your behavior regardless of what scripture says?

 - Are you having sex with someone other then your spouse?  Why is this important? The chemical cocktail is a powerful brain numbing and dumbing tool used by satan. 

 - Are you blaming your current situation or sin on your spouse or boss or parents etc… 

 - Are you describing events as if they were to powerful or God ordained to fight against? 

 - When asked questions do you typically defend your opinion and or ask questions back.

 - Is your speech filled with weak and vague explanations. Clouded in obscure lingo and ideas?

 - Do you lack detail in your circumstances when asked by others about it. 

 -  Do you blame God or your circumstances for your actions and decisions? 

 - Is what you are doing clearly stated as Godly in scripture. 

Gods word has a lot to say and is also absent on a lot of things… and we many times assume things are ok or not ok based on his silence on issues. 

However, if you know what you are doing is clearly wrong in scripture. You are deceived by your own intentions.
