Manchester City's Ilkay Gundogan is a really deft football player and an absolute magician with the ball at his feet. Today, we look at 10 things you probably didn’t know about the Former Borussia Dortmund and German midfield maestro. 

Let’s get right to it!  Gundogan made his debut for the Germany national team in 2011, after playing for different levels of Germany’s youth team since 2008. But did you know that up until that debut with the senior team, he could have opted to play for the Turkish national team?  

Unlike many other footballers who have had a monument named after them, Gundogan did not have to wait till he died or retired. When he was just 24, playing for Borussia Dortmund, he had a stadium in his hometown in Turkey named after him by the deputy mayor.
