Folklore is born from the unknown. All it takes is a shriek in the night to conjure up images of terrifying creatures. The night itself is almost antagonistic to us humans, we have evolved to fear the dark as it might hide a predator looking to make a human its next meal. As humans advanced and developed civilizations, we feared the creatures of the night less and less as we were safe in our walled cities and towns. But one creature has seemed to be able to bypass these barriers and drink our blood in the night, the vampire. There are several vampiric creatures categorized in human folklore. They can be animals who are seeking easy prey, they can be products of witchcraft, or they can be a monster that was once human.  Tonight we take a brief and surprising look into some of the many origins of the vampire on this episode of Snipe Hunt.
