First, Margot blows our minds with the incredible true story of Phineas Gage - a man who was working on the railroad when an accidental explosion caused a 13 pound rod to go through his head. By some miracle he survived, but afterwards he was "no longer Gage." This is considered to be a groundbreaking case for neuroscience and psychology.

 

Then, Elizabeth tells us of the tragic Holodomor Genocide of Soviet Ukraine in the 1930s. This man-made famine led by Stalin claimed the lives of nearly 4 million people between 1932-1933.
