You might be new to GracePoint and have never heard the story of how it began. It all started on a napkin in Panera Bread in 2009. It was a dream. A venture. A dare, if you will. Some say a long shot. What if we could “do” church different? Most people think of church as boring. Outdated. Irrelevant. Judgmental. A small group of people began to think. To dream. To plan. What if we could create a church that unchurched people love? Would it work? Would it survive? Could it happen? By the grace of God, the dream became a reality.
Starting with just 24 people, and a bunch of empty chairs, the doors were opened in September of 2009. Ten years later, over 1000 people show up each week to be a part of this amazing story. For eight years, we were mobile, renting a banquet center and then an elementary school gym. For years, our volunteers showed up each week at 5:00 AM to unload the semi-truck and create an amazing environment for church. It was nuts…and awesome!
The Apostle Paul said it best: “Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.” Ephesians 3:20 (TLB)
