There’s this attitude Christians carry that we like some of the Bible, but not all of it. We like that God saves. We like that He’ll never leave us or forsake us, that He’ll fight our battles and He loves us the very most. We are so focused on what we get out of the relationship that we forget that’s not what this is about. We are all about the good parts, but we take a hard pass on the bits that convict us and make us uncomfortable because they fly in the face of what culture says is appropriate and acceptable.
