100 Years of Gratitude

Near the conclusion of World War I, Herbert Hoover’s humanitarian relief led him to Poland. He organized the American Relief Administration that helped feed more than 2 million Polish children daily at its peak. The organization raised 400 thousand tons of foodstuffs for Poland at an estimated cost of $130 million while operating 10,000 kitchens. During the four years following World War I, this organization provided half a billion meals to the Polish people alone. 

On July 6, 2020, the city of Krakow, Poland paid tribute to Herbert Hoover in a special way. This is the story.
