28 So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Matthew 23:28

 

How do you deal with and love the hypocrites in your life?

 

Why are they acting like this?

 

1. Maybe they don't really know God.

 

4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

1 John 2:4

 

2. Maybe they don't know any better yet.

 

1 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:1

 

3. Maybe they do know better but they still disobey God. 

 

16 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.

1 Peter 2:16

 

How we prayerfully approach people?

 

1. God help me confront with a heart to restore.

 

1a Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.

Galatians 6:1a 

 

 

2. God help me to approach carefully.

 

1b Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

Galatians 6:1b 

 

3. God help me see when I'm the hypocrite.

 

19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

James 5:19-20
