The Quran condemned the Christian belief in the Trinity and the worship of Jesus, yet Allah still helped the Christian Byzantine Empire defeat the pagan Persian Empire.
Sheikh Imran Hosein suggests that the split between the Western and Eastern Roman Empires was due to differing beliefs about the nature of the Holy Spirit within the Trinity, and that Rome will eventually move from Constantinople to Moscow, as Russia becomes the new "Rome of the Quran."
Sheikh argues that the story from the Sira (biography of the Prophet Muhammad) claiming that the king of Abyssinia secretly believed in Prophet Jesus while outwardly professing belief in the Trinity is likely false, as this would be a deceptive and unrighteous act.
