This week, I’m continuing the series This Ends With Me: The War Against Anxiety. In part two, I share what it was like returning to therapy after almost two years and how I prayed my way through the process of finding a new counselor.
After trying therapy and medication in the past without lasting success, I reached a point where I knew I had to do things differently. I asked God to lead me to the right person, someone who would challenge me, not just listen and send me home with breathing exercises. I prayed for her before I even met her, and when I finally walked into that first session, I could feel that God had gone before me.
In this episode, I talk about how I recognized the signs that this new therapist might be the one God chose for me, what I learned from her analogy about anxiety, and how prayer has become part of my therapy journey. I also share the homework she gave me and how I used ChatGPT to help me think through my anxiety triggers.
This episode is a reminder that healing is both spiritual and practical. We can pray, fast, and still show up for therapy. Faith and mental health are not separate journeys; they work together.
Scripture References:
If you are searching for a therapist, pray about it. Ask God to lead you to the right person, and believe that healing is possible for you.
