Whether we realize it or not, everyone has priorities. We give first place or highest priority to what is most important in our lives. If someone were to ask your priorities, you would probably say something like “God, family, others, myself.” Yet take a look at your weekly or daily schedule and how you prioritize your time or at your bank account and how you’ve spent your money or even at a list of items that people are passionate about and which of those items gets a strong response from you. What will you find? So often we give lip service to the proper priorities. Of course, God first! Of course, family and others ahead of myself! Of course! Yet where do our priorities lie? As followers of Jesus, God’s Word helps us to not only identify proper priorities in our lives, but also to maintain those proper priorities. Lord, help us follow you!
