This year, on Sunday 14th February 2021, the Year of the Golden Ox is being celebrated in Cathedral Square in the heart of Christchurch city. Chinese people and culture have been part of New Zealand’s story right from the beginning, but it’s not until recent years that everyone has started to join in and enjoy some of what is on offer.
