#106 — Podcasts, prosthetics, and the paralympics w/ Josie Fouts

Listen Later

Steph met Josie earlier this year at the nuun retreat in California, where the two cycled together, and Steph was blown away by Josie’s speed, power, and agility - all achieved with one hand on the handle bars. Steph and Josie dive into what it feels like growing up with one hand, and how she coped with feeling different and like an outsider. In the end, Josie wouldn’t want it any other way, and credits her disability with her independent spirit and self-assurance today. In an act of courage, Josie quit her job to chase an enormous dream - to go to the paralympics only a year after picking-up a bike. She attributes her progress and success as a cyclist to her friends, who encourage her to push her limits. Josie discusses prosthetics, and why she is considering trying one again after writing them off as a young person due to the limits of technology. Tune in to be inspired by this incredible athlete and to hear how she is overcoming her limiting beliefs, and owning her abilities and superpowers.
