Today I talk with Taylor Duerr. Taylor is a Professional Boxer, and throughout his life he has battled addiction. Taylor grew up in 10 Mile Michigan, right outside of Detroit. If you’ve seen the movie 8 Mile with Eminem, you have a good idea about what 10 Mile is like. The documentary “We Can Be Heroes” is centered around Taylor, boxing, and the fight against addiction.

The filmmaker Michael Ramsdell had this to say about Taylor and the film; “Commonly people think of addicts as weak, or as lazy, or they don’t care about anybody else, or they can’t handle the tough part of life,” Ramsdell says, but Duerr cuts through all of those misconceptions.
