Our service today marks Palm Sunday - the day when Jesus made his celebrated entry into Jerusalem, riding on a donkey. Crowds of people lined the route shouting Hosanna! and waving palm branches. But what was in the minds of these people? Why did they think Jesus was coming to Jerusalem? Who did they think he was?
I wonder what you make of Jesus. As Holy Week begins, this is the ideal time to reflect on these matters. Earlier in life, you may have been taught to call Jesus your ‘Lord’ and ‘Saviour’. What do such words actually mean to you today?
If we call Jesus, ‘Lord’, are we ready to live our lives as he did? If we call him ‘Saviour’, do we trust that his death on the cross on Good Friday can save us from our sins?
I do hope you are well and that you will know God’s blessing as we walk with Jesus on the route to the cross.
