God didn't immediately expose Achan. He set up a procedure that revealed both His justice and His grace. The investigative process gave Achan time to repent, cleared the innocent, and narrowed corporate guilt down to one individual. Joshua's compassionate address—"My son"—reveals the heart of a leader executing judgment with tears.
