I. The Speculator/Securer of Debt (6:1-5; 11:14-15; 17:17-18)
*Don’t get entangled in someone else’s financial debt/responsibility
Similarities to Sexual Unfaithfulness:
-Getting involved away from home/main commitments
-Lacking foresight = Short term gains but long-term problems
When security goes bad…
-With the stranger, you likely lose the money
-With the neighbor, you likely lose the relationship
II. The Sluggard (6:6-11)
Characteristics of the Ant
Female (Proverbs 31)
Doesn’t need someone to tell her what to do; takes initiative
Prepares- works ahead of time; plans ahead
Gathers- finishes the job
Characteristics of Sluggard
Always wants just a little more
Hands folded
Poverty/Want
III. The Savior (Ephesians 2:8-10)

*Saved for work, not by work or from work
B. Give Yourself to the Right Things

What if you’re not able to work?
-Guard your heart against quick riches or laziness
-Be faithful in what you can control/what you can do
-Don’t withdraw from God or others
-Display trust in God and personal humility
