Dr. Shelley Park, professor at UCF, discusses their work on A Virtual Pulse: Cautionary Notes about Public Mourning in the Digital Age. We examine the ways in which public responses to tragedy often become a tool to displace responsibility and guilt, particularly through social media.
The Philosophy Phorum Podcast, hosted by Dhruv Kapadia, encourages the learning of philosophy by providing a space to understand the history of philosophy and current issues through different perspectives. As most middle and high school students lack access to philosophy courses, Philosophy Phorum aims to provide interstitial learning opportunities. By interviewing a variety of people and connecting philosophy to ongoing events, we hope to cultivate epistemic creativity and help individuals value the imperative usefulness of philosophy in their daily lives.
