In today's episode, I talk about my toxic trait of defensiveness and how it stems from my low self-esteem. I am a very defensive person, and it'll make me either angry and try to clap back or it'll make me sad and feel bad about myself. And while it's fine to defend yourself when needed, having a guard up can be counterproductive. It causes arguments and it stunts your growth. I have a bad habit of closing my ears and opening my mouth, but the good news is, all habits are breakable. If you're like me, you need to realize it's really okay for someone to tell you something that in the long run can help you. You're not a bad person for someone having something negative to say. You've gotta learn to bring the guard down and open your ears.
