The Common Stitch

11: FRED HOPE - On Kiteboarding, Fun, and Growing up in Two Different Countries

Listen Later

Fred Hope is a young gun who's out there kiting and foiling for the pure fun of it - and because of that, he's become one of the most impressive kiters on the water.

Fred grew up in Hood River, Oregon AND La Ventana in Baja California, Mexico. His entire family split their year between these two sweet spots. This winter, his freshman year at the University of Washington, has been the first winter he has EVER spent in the U.S.

Listen in to gain some more knowledge of the sport of kiting, what it's like to grow up between two countries, and tap back into the pure enjoyment and community of a sport.
